Church Launches Hurricane Survivor Support Group
St. Peter Lutheran Church on Estero Blvd will host a Hurricane Survivor Support group every other Tuesday starting May 27th at 6PM. The meetings will focus on anyone struggling emotionally due to the three storms that came through Fort Myers Beach.

After making the Fort Myers Beach Town Council sit through a 3-hour presentation and public hearing, Times Square property owner Terry Persaud pulled his 30-room hotel proposal off the table at the last minute. It was clear the project was about to be denied.
Lighthouse Upgrades Approved By Town Council
The Fort Myers Beach Town Council has unanimously approved renovations, upgrades and a new building planned for the Lighthouse Resort. The Lighthouse, located at the base of the Matanzas Pass Bridge, has been owned by the Kolar family for over 60 years.
Former Interim Town Manager Passes
Former Interim Town Manager, LPA and Audit Committee member and Fort Myers Beach resident Jim Steele passed away unexpectedly last Thursday. Steele, pictured here with Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt, was 83.
Seagate Steps up To Pay For Fireworks
On Monday, Seagate CEO Matt Price donated $47,000 to Fort Myers Beach to help cover the cost of the 4th of July fireworks. The full cost of the fireworks is $78,000.
Why I Don’t Support The Recall Petition.
(By Jille Dicke) It's troubling to me that the recall process doesn’t require any actual proof to move forward. It seems to create a dangerous precedent that others may attempt each time they are unhappy with a council vote and it will continually cost taxpayer’s money and time.
