(Fire Chief Matt Love) You may have noticed the presence of our fire department vehicles hanging out in the school zone to welcome back students, but also to remind drivers to slow down in school zones.

Today is Dog Day At The Library

From 10AM to 2PM kids have an opportunity to practice their reading skills in the company of a friendly dog. You'll need to pre-register for a 15-minute slot on the library Facebook page, at the second floor desk, or by calling 239-765-8162. Masks are required for all except for children under 6.

Did You Know Your Audit Committee Met?

If not, that's OK, because members of the committee were not even sure if their meeting was legal. Town staff told Audit Committee members the meeting was legal and they did not have to notify the public.

Roar Offshore Hosting Cape Coral Event

The Roar Offshore Fun Run will take place on the dates of the originally planned Fort Myers Beach Roar Offshore National Championship Powerboat Races October 9th - 11th. The event will take place at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village.

Council Trying To Fix Speed Limit Signs

Early this year members of the town of Fort Myers Beach Town Council started receiving complaints that speed limit signs in the waters around the island were changed and boaters were speeding through areas that were known for Manatee.

Labor Day Trump Boat Parades Set For Area

Two Labor Day boat parades are being held in the area for those who support President Donald Trump. There are two starting points for a parade that starts in Pine Island, sponsored by Rezny Wealth Management. There's also one scheduled to start at 11AM at the midpoint Bridge being organized by Raven Ventura.

SWFL In Early Cone of Next Storm

Tropical Depression 13 has formed in the Atlantic and the early prediction for the storm has Southwest Florida in the path. The storm is forecast to strengthen and if it turns into a storm it will be called Laura. Forecasts have the storm arriving in Florida around Monday.
