Council To Borrow $10 Million For Major Projects

On Monday the town council unanimously approved a resolution for the $10 million which will be used for the Bay Oaks rebuild, the Times Square redesign and Bayside Park.

You can't miss Nervous Nellie's as you come over the big bridge and head into Fort Myers Beach. The huge restaurant sporting an assortment of bright colors, big outdoor patio and dockside parking, has been a favorite for so many locals and tourists to visit, and hang out at, over the years.

Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Sanibel Beach

Wednesday afternoon, a single-engine, single-seat Piper Aircraft flying a banner over Sanibel had to make an emergency landing on the beach near West Gulf Beach Drive. The pilot reported the aircraft began to sputter for unknown reasons. He released the banner and made an emergency landing. There were no injuries.

Council Still Considering Nuisance Abatement Board

It's unknown at this time if a Nuisance Abatement Board has the votes to pass the full Fort Myers Beach town council. It is clear considering one for the beach is still on the table. Discussions about creating a Nuisance Abatement Board began after the murder at the Lani Kai in July.

Council Considering $10 Million Loan

The money would be used to pay for the three major projects the town is considering: Bay Oaks, Times Square and Bayside Park. Bay Oaks is expected to be the biggest expense of the three.
