Following a $1.5 million renovation in 2019, Charley’s Boat House was recently honored with Wine Spectator’s 2020 Award of Excellence. Charley’s Boat House opened up as Charley Brown’s back in 1074.
According to Wine Spectator, Award of Excellence winners “offer at least 90 selections and feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.”
Charley’s is now one of only three restaurants in Lee County that boast this award, and the only one on Fort Myers Beach.
To celebrate, Charley’s is hosting a wine dinner series called “Wines of the World” from August 12-September 16. Dinners will be on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm and will feature four full courses paired with wines from the region of the week. Each dinner features a socially distant, educational presentation from Charley’s Wine Specialist, Triciann Botta. Reservations are required and seating is limited to allow for proper social distancing.
