The Florida Department of Health-Lee has received second doses of the vaccine for seniors 65 and older and frontline medical workers who received their first doses of the Moderna vaccine at various county sites Dec. 28-30.

City Hall Sound System Woes Continue
Well over a year ago the town replaced the sound system in the room public meetings are held at City Hall presumably so the public could clearly hear meetings broadcast on the town's YouTube page and Comcast TV channel. The new system has been nothing short of disastrous.

Kudos To Snug Harbor
Snug Harbor owner Peter Ennis has notified the Woman's Club that he'll be donating proceeds for all drink orders of the “Snug Harbor IPA” sold Saturday from 11-5 to help make up some of the lost funding from the canceled Putt & Pub Crawl. The town manager denied a permit for the event, which raises about $10,000 for local community organizations.

Following a joint meeting between the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus Advisory Board and the town council, Town Manager Roger Hernstadt was told to move forward with the plan for one new Bay Oaks building, a design BORCAB has vehemently opposed.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information on who carved the word TRUMP into a manatee's back in Florida's Homosassa River. The manatee was discovered by a boat captain and it appears the word TRUMP was carved into the manatee using algae.
Rood Files ADA Lawsuit Against Town
This new lawsuit is in relation to the Dune Walkover Rood is fighting the town over. In the filing, Rood says the walkover is a necessary and reasonable accommodation of his disability, and would be necessary for his access to public lands directly adjoining his private property.
