Bridge Project To Begin in Late 2022
According to the Florida Department of Transportation a public hearing on the planned reconfiguration at the base of the Matanzas Pass Bridge on the beach side will be held this summer. An exact date was not given. So, when might construction on this project begin?

The Darling legacy continues at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Leslie and Palmer Williams have established the Ann Darling & Lee Williams, Jr., Family Education Fund to support refuge educational programs.
$30,000 Raised For Beach School
Last Saturday night Shuckers hosted a 1920's themed casino night fundraising event. $30,000 was raised to benefit the Fort Myers Beach elementary school. The casino event is typically held outside the Women's Club in a big tent, however, with permitting challenges due to COVID it was moved to Shuckers this year.
No Review Planned For Town Manager
Will this town council be derelict in their responsibility to the town taxpayers on Monday? With the 17th being the final Fort Myers Beach town council meeting in the month of May, it appears the council will not be evaluating the performance of the town manager, which they are required to do, according to his contract.

Is It Time To Increase Law Enforcement?
Does Fort Myers Beach have enough law enforcement coverage to address the public safety issues it's now facing? At least two town councilman, Dan Allers and Jim Atterholt, believe increasing a police presence on the beach should be considered.

LCSO Asking For Help in Lani Kai Murder
It's been almost a year since 22-year old Johnny Jackson was killed at the Lani Kai motel on Fort Myers Beach. The killer has not been arrested and now the Lee County Sheriff's Department is asking for help from the public.
