The Lee County Sheriff's department will be more visible on Fort Myers Beach. A new Outreach Center opened on Wednesday with Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno cutting the ribbon to the new facility on Estero Boulevard.

Here are the latest Fort Myers Beach turtle stats from our friends at Turtle Time. There are 19 remaining nests to hatch compared to 24 last week. Turtle season ends October 31 so always remember to fill in the holes in the sand while out enjoing the beach.

As the Fort Myers Beach Town Council considers creating a Nuisance Abatement Board, the Lee County Sheriff's Department has updated members on what the Lani Kai is doing to correct it's high crime call numbers.

Street Performer Applications Now Being Accepted

There are 12 street performer spots available on Fort Myers Beach. The town is now accepting applications for the upcoming season. There is a $75 application fee and a $75 fee paid to the town so they can conduct a background check on you.

Lee COVID Numbers Continue To Decline

On Tuesday, Lee Health Systems reported it was down to 80 COVID-19 patients in its hospitals. A few weeks back that number was over 350. Lee County has been educating residents on the importance of masks and social distancing for weeks. There is no mask mandate in Lee County. 

Manatee Critical After Boat Accident

On Saturday, September 5th, the Lee County Sheriff and Florida Fish and Wildlife rescued a full grown manatee after it was struck by a boat not too far from Snug Harbor restaurant. We have an update on her condition.

A $60,000 study revealed the town of Fort Myers Beach must make over $2 million worth of property modifications, in seven different areas, to become compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. So far $50,000 has been set aside to make the changes.
