Times Square Business owners met this week to try to get on the same page with the town about details they're concerned about in the upcoming redevelopment of Times Square. They followed up their own meeting with a get together with town staff to pass along their ideas and concerns. Here's what went down...

What Going on At The Your Library?
Our friends at the Fort Myers Beach Library tell us that the Library Cafe will be opening soon but, until then, there are still plenty of cold drinks and snacks for hungry book readers on the 3rd floor, Monday through Friday from 10-2. Here's what's going on at the library for the first half of November.
Anchorage Wants To Move Upland To Harbor House
On Monday Anchorage Advisory Committee Chair Katherine Light will ask the town council to look into moving Upland Services for mooring field residents to the Harbor House. Upland Services include showers, bathrooms, laundry, water and trash collection.
Lobbyist To State His Case
Also on Monday residents will get an understanding as to why they pay this man - Ron Book - $45,000 per year. The lobbyists' contract says he provides legislative consulting services for the town before the Florida legislature, the executive branch and other governments.
Kudos To The Pink Shell
The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association has recognized the Pink Shell with its Seal of Commitment, an honor given to several area hotels for their dedication to enhanced safety and sanitation practices.
Watch Out For Mobile Manatees
November is Manatee Awareness Month and The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wants boaters to remember that Manatees are now on the move migrating to warmer waters for the winter. And because of that injuries to manatees from boat strikes are more common this time of year.

Working Things Out in The Square
As we reported last week, several Times Square business owners were upset with the town for not being included in the design of the Times Square rehabilitation project. This morning both sides are sitting down together to discuss the project and to try to get on the same page as this project quickly moves along.
New Paint On The Way
Drive carefully around the downtown area. Starting today the crosswalks at the intersection of Wind's/Times Square/Mango Bay are scheduled for repainting. Of course the work is weather permitting.
