Lighting Study To Take Six Months

According to Suzanne Lansford from Town Lighting Engineers, the firm the town is paying to conduct the Estero Boulevard lighting study, their work must be completed by the end of September. And, she said, that's pretty quick for such a big project.

Royal Tern Deaths To Be Studied

The sudden increase in dead Royal Terns near the Sanibel Causeway will be studied thanks to an $8,000 federal grant. The Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation Marine Lab will analyze some of the dead birds along with baitfish. The thought is the cause of the increase in Royal Tern deaths may be in the food chain.

Lee County COVID Cases Drop To 55

As the number of people receiving the COVID-19 vaccine continues to grow, the number of cases in Lee County continue to decrease. Lee Health Systems reported 55 patients in their hospitals as of Thursday, one of the lowest numbers we've seen in a very long time.
