That's what Vice Mayor Rexann Hosafros says is her experience related to mask wearing. She gave an example of going to a restaurant to pick up food for a neighbor and the staff wasn't wearing masks about 50% of the time. She says she doesn't go back to those establishments. Mayor Ray Murphy agreed, even calling out the President.
New Years Eve Fireworks Hanging on by a Thread
There's still a chance. If Town Manager Roger Hernstadt can find a barge to shoot off the fireworks at a cost not to exceed $15,000, fireworks might still take place on New Years Eve on Fort Myers Beach.

A New Times Square is Getting Closer
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach town council will get an update on all three of its major projects; Times Square, Bay Oaks and Bayside Park. The town is getting a $10 million bank loan to pay for the projects which are expected to be completed over the next several years.
The Sale of The Sliders Continues…For Now
(By Kim Ryan) Back in September the Fort Myers Beach town council took steps to draft an ordinance prohibiting the sale of the yellow belly slider turtle now being sold by at least one business on the beach. This week town attorney John Herin said the ordinance is off the table after an exchange of e-mails he had with FWC.

Murphy: Our Mask Ordinance is Enforceable
Fort Myers Beach Mayor Ray Murphy put restaurants on notice Thursday. He said just because the town has not issued any fines related to its mask mandate does not mean it won't. Murphy believes the town's mask mandate is valid and fines can be issued. He specifically called out restaurants.
