Last week Lee County Manager Dave Harner attended the Let’s Go FMB pier presentation made by Allen Shanosky. After the meeting we interviewed Harner and asked him where the pier was on the county’s priority list of projects.

Free Parking at Lynn Hall Park and Bowditch Beach Park on Fort Myers Beach ended Sunday, October 1st. Lee County began charging $2.00 per hour to park in both lots Monday, October 2nd.

On Thursday, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded $338 million in state funding to communities impacted by Hurricane Ian to support long-term recovery efforts and resiliency. $14 million from that distribution will go to the Fort Myers Beach Fire District.

Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer can begin to build their 293-foot walkover to the beach when turtle season ends next month. On Monday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted to release the permit after approving a special exception for the walkover back in March.
