‘Ding’ Darling Buys 21.5 Acres of Land
“Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge has purchased 21.5 acres of land adjacent to Bay Drive -- between Isabel Drive and the Dunes Golf & Tennis Club on Sanibel. The purchase was possible thanks to a donation from the family Pine Rock Foundation of Minneapolis.

Seagate Submits Red Coconut Property Plans
One month after unveiling plans for the Red Coconut property on Beach Talk Radio, Seagate has officially filed those plans with the town of Fort Myers Beach. The process is now in motion. Town staff will provide Seagate with feedback before the project goes before the LPA.
Beach Bar Owners Pick Interior Designer
Interior design, cabinetry, closet and millwork firm EDGE has been awarded the interior design contract for the new Beach Bar on Fort Myers Beach. The Beach Bar was destroyed by Hurricane Ian September 28, 2022 and is in the process of rebuilding.

Fire Department to See $3.9 Million Revenue Recovery
If the Fort Myers Beach Fire District Board does not raise the millage rate going into 2025 they will see $3.9 million more in revenue over 2024. That jump is due to the increase in beach property values. The Fire District millage rate is $2.9851 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
Wisconsin Trip Raises Over $6K For Art Association
The 2024 Beach Talk Radio show at the Fox River Brewing Company in Oshkosh, Wisconsin raised $6,355 for the Fort Myers Beach Art Association. Several hundred people came out to watch the show and donate to a beloved organization on Fort Myers Beach.
