After several bad weather Sunday's, comedian Al Ernst is set to perform at St. Peter Lutheran Church (3751 Estero Blvd) this Sunday following the 9AM service. Coffee and Donuts will be served be fore the jokes start flying.

We need about 6 more volunteers for our sold out concert on March 2nd at The Woman’s Club featuring Stephen Clark and Wayward Souls. Having volunteers for these 3 tasks will guarantee 100 percent of the money we collect goes to the Woman’s Club.

The town of Fort Myers Beach is considering three locations for its pump out boat, which is the boat that services the waste from the mooring field boats. Those 3 locations are canals on Virginia Avenue, Chapel Street and at Bay Oaks.

On Monday, February 26th at 2PM at Bonita Bill's, The Estero Island Historical Society is hosting a presentation by Historian and award-winning author Robert Macomber.

This week the Fort Myers Beach Art Association presented a $2,000 check to the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School. The money was raised during recent fundraising efforts and from the Ketchum Charitable Foundation and will be used for school art programs.

The Fort Myers Beach Kiwanis recently presented a check $500 check to LARC – Lee Association of Remarkable Citizens.

Tickets are now available for Cause For The Campus, a March 2nd fundraising event for the Sanibel Sea School. The organization is hoping to rebuild in time to open this Summer.

The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation awards scholarships each year for post high school education, including an endowed scholarship at Florida SouthWestern State College. Anyone who lives on the beach or whose parent or guardian lives or works on the beach can apply.

Jean Gottlieb - a native of Chicago and 60-year seasonal Fort Myers Beach resident - has died at the age of 100. Gottlieb was historian and researcher; polio survivor, fisherwoman, memoirist; mother of six, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The public is invited to attend the Fort Myers Beach Art Association's February 23rd Student Scholarship Show and Award Reception. Cypress Lake High School is hosting the event.
