Lee County has informed us that the air conditioned restroom trailer facilities at Bowditch Park on Fort Myers Beach will open tomorrow. The permanent restroom building and surrounding boardwalk was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian and is one of the many projects Lee County has on its list to repair with FEMA funds.
There is no ETA yet on when the permanent structure and boardwalk will be repaired. Immediately after the storm, Bowditch Park was secured by a chain-link fence. Lee County was able to re-open the park, without the restroom facilities, in August of 2023.
Lee County owns Bowditch Park, Lynn Hall Park (including the pier), Crescent Park and all of Estero Boulevard.
I was under the assumption the town owned the north end of Estero Blvd?
Only the street. Not the park.
