When a business reopens on Fort Myers Beach it’s hard to keep it a secret. The ground floor beach restaurant and bar Cabanas at DiamondHead Resort opened back up this week after sustaining severe damage from Hurricane Ian.

All the upgrades at the restaurant are not yet complete so an official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in a few months.

The hours are 11AM to 9PM seven days a week. Entertainment will be nightly (not on Monday) and twice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Food will be served from 11AM to 8PM. Day passes for the pool side are now only $20.00

Restaurant Manager Marcel Chartier tells us tonight at Dueling Pianos will be entertaining the crowd from 7PM to 10PM.

DiamondHead Resort was one of the first businesses back open after Hurricane Ian damaged nearly every structure on Fort Myers Beach. If it was not for the team at DiamondHead the Fort Myers Beach government, all of its committees and the Fort Myers Beach Fire District would have no place to govern after the storm. The resort hosted all of their meetings at no charge.

  1. I am a TS owner at Diamondhead. It is what I look forward to every year. Have made many lifetime friends there. i have watched as the “day pass” idea has unfolded-and at times it looks like Caddyshack Caddy day! Many of these “day passers” smoke, even though it is posted no smoking. Some families have many kids of all ages jumping into pool instead of stairs, in and out of hot tubs even when they are not in use. They act as if paying for a day allows them to act like the place is theirs. I have also observed these same people buy drinks and food during their visit, and we’re not talking McDonald’s prices here. Pay, be respectful and enjoy. I also saw the staff checking bands so I know they are mondful of who should not be there. The new Cabanas layout is wonderful! Beach friendly, pool users can just walk up to the bar, Neil Hopgood and Marcel Chartier and ALL of Diamondhead’s staff deserve the highest accolades for “sticking with it” to bring the owners, hotel guests and all of FMB a place to eat, drink and be merry!

  2. The place is fabulous, what a great improvement from the old set up. Experience it and I’m sure you’ll agree. New sports spot, entertainment with pull out stage, open view to the beach and a sand mat that almost takes you to the waters edge. Enjoy
