Town Tightens Up Vacation Rental Oversight
On Thursday the town of Fort Myers Beach announced it was moving to a new short-term rental software. The new software will help town staff monitor short-term rentals and identify renters not following the rules.Â

Campaign Underway to Recall 2 Council Members
A recall campaign is underway to oust Town Council members John King and Karen Woodson from the Fort Myers Beach Town Council. The recall committee has 29 days to collect 337 signatures of registered voters to keep the process alive.
Town Council Close to Approving Arches Development
Another major development project is on the verge of being approved. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted to move The Arches redevelopment project onto a second public hearing on June 2nd. If approved at that hearing, the project can proceed.
Town Approves New Town Manager Contract
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council unanimously approved a contract for new Town Manager Will McKannay. McKannay was the unanimous choice to replace the departing Andy Hyatt back on April 18th. His first day will be May 19th.
