Town Manager Will McKannay brought that good news to Beach Talk Radio Sunday when he appeared on the show with Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt. McKannay says he’s seen the drawings for the new church and they are “absolutely gorgeous.”

As we reported last week, FEMA's recent visit resulted in a list of 252 Fort Myers Beach properties that the town needs to address by August 8th. Originally the town had advised the community residents could not call Town Hall to see if they were on the list. That has now changed. 

On Saturday, Delmar resident Ron Fleming gave us a tour of his street and showed us all the beautiful new house and quaint cottages that make Fort Myers Beach so great. It's a great way to see all the progress being made since Hurricane Ian.

Nobody would think you were crazy if you came to the conclusion that there's no way the Town of Fort Myers Beach is coming off probation after the letter the town received from FEMA yesterday.

The request has to do with the Writ of Certiorari case a group of Fort Myers Beach residents (Protect FMB) have filed against the town to have the Town Council take another look at the approval of the Seagate/Red Coconut property redevelopment project.

As the Town of Fort Myers Beach continues to work toward opening its new Town Hall building at 6231 Estero Boulevard, four main government meetings will be held back at DiamondHead Resort.
