Starting this week and running through September, the Refuge Visitor & Education Center at Ding Darling will be closed Friday and Sunday each week, due to volunteer dropout over COVID-19 concerns.
Refuge Manager Kevin Godsea said, “In order to keep the Visitor Center open, we would need to shift other Refuge staff away from performing mission-critical work to cover the information desk for a small number of visitors on Friday.”
