Fireworks Celebration Canceled

The town of Fort Myers Beach will not have a New Years Eve fireworks celebration to send 2020 off into history. Town Manager Roger Hernstadt was unable to find a barge solution, not to exceed $15,000, a budget the council set. The Fireworks, originally planned for July 4th 2020, will now be stored until at least July 4, 2021 at a cost of $4,000.

  1. Roger couldn’t find a barge?! I think there are plenty of barges out there that would gladly take a $15,000 payment! I can almost bet that he didn’t even lift a finger to check. I think Mr. Hernstadt has overstayed his (un)welcome on Fort Myers Beach.
