Here’s The Lineup of Speakers For Saturday

Saturday morning at 9AM the community will gather in Times Square to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Army and raise the United States flag in Lynn Hall Park. Here is our incredible lineup of speakers.

The speakers will talk about the importance of the United States Army and their love for the United States Flag. There will be NO politics.

Our star-studded lineup:

9:00 – Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Will McKannay

United States Army Veteran

9:05 – Ron Loshbaugh
Ron served with the 10th Mountain Division and the 1st Cavalry Division. He deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from January 2009 to January 2010. He was hit twice while deployed and broke his back 3 times. Medically retired in 2015.

9:10 Joe Guilmette
Joe is the Senior Vice Commander of the Bonita Springs VFW – Post 10097. Joe is a Retired United States Army Captain and a Retired Police Sgt. from the City of Cranston, Rhode Island. Joe will have with him a 94-year old veteran of Vietnam. Clarence could actually be the oldest living veteran in Southwest Florida according to Joe

9:15 – Stacey Long
Stacey A. Long is a retired Seargeant First Class Stacey A. Long and a decorated combat veteran with over 28 years of service to the U.S. Army. Her experiences cover a multitude of areas from Armorer, logistics moving equipment & personnel to remote locations, specializes in weapons & ammunitions, Strategic Operations & Training for road to war US & Polish Soldiers, to second in charge of running Marseilles Training Center, training over 300,000 Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and alphabet agencies in 3-years. After retirement from the Army, she took this experience and applied it to working for Illinois Emergency Management Agency in Training/Operations. She is the President of her nonprofit, which supports Soldiers & First responders in need. She is also a mother to 7-children and one grandson.

9:20 – Doug Brown
W. Doug Brown is a retired Command Sergeant Major and a decorated combat veteran with over 34 years of service to the U.S. Army. His experiences cover the gambit from the operating room at the beginning of his career, responding to natural disasters, Afghanistan and all the way through working at the U.S. Embassy in Poland. He possesses an extensive awards portfolio reflecting stellar job performance, team-building efforts, top-notch communication, and technical proficiency. After retirement from the Army, he took this experience and applied it to coaching, mentoring, and working for Illinois Emergency Management Agency in Training/Operations. He is also a father to 7-children and one grandson.

9:25 – Maury Gingrich
Maury is from the Fort Myers Beach American Legion. Maury is standing in for Vice Commander Jeff McQuade who will be away at a convention.

9:30 – The raising of the flag/pledge of allegiance. Flag in Lynn Hall Park.
FYI everyone – the plan is to take your flags back in Sunday night or Monday and hold on to them so we can put them all back out on July 4th.

  1. Great idea Ed !! Keeping them to put back out for 4th of July!! Can’t wait to see Kim’s bike ride on Saturday so we can all see all the flags; for us that can’t be there in person!!Will be quite the sight to see👏👏👏 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️
