Estero Island Historical Society President Ellie Bunting tells Beach Talk Radio, “We are finally ready to send our first batch of bricks to the engraver since Hurricane Ian.”Â
Decades worth of bricks in support of the organization can be seen outside the building on Bay Road behind the Beach School. Amazingly most of them survived Hurricane Ian.Â
Ellie says all of the records were lost in the storm and there were probably bricks ordered and paid for just before the storm but never delivered. “If you ordered a brick, please let us know and we will make sure we make one for you. If you haven’t ordered one yet, there is still time. Just go to our website eihsonlineshopping.com and pay for the brick or send a check for $100 to:
Ellie Bunting
21681 Indian Bayou Drive
Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931.
You will then be sent an email asking what you would like on the brick. Once all of that information is in, a mock-up will be created for your approval and then the brick will be sent off to be engraved.
If you previously ordered and paid for a brick, please send Ellie your contact information and what you would like on the brick. You have three lines with 13 characters per line counting spaces.

The plan is to have all of the bricks completed by the end of May when The Matanzas Pass Preserve is scheduled to reopen. The Friends of Matanzas Pass Preserve are planning a grand opening and the hope is to have all of the new bricks in by then.

I love this….
