We’re Beautifying Times Square Sunday

Beach Talk Radio, the Estero Island Garden Club and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will be planting over 200 plants and dropping down 210 bags of mulch behind the wavy wall on Sunday, March 24th and Monday, March 25th, and you made this all happen.

This is a continuation of our volunteer efforts to help rebuild and beautify Fort Myers Beach after the devastation of Hurricane Ian.

So many of you volunteered to paint the wavvy wall in Times Square and clean up and plant new plants at the Estero Island Historical Society building.

Here are the details for the planting:
    – The Estero Island Garden Club has picked out the plants from All Native Garden Center. The total cost of the plants is $5,000 and in about 3 hours Wednesday you donated nearly $8,000. All the money will be turned over to the Garden Club.
    – We also need 50 volunteers on the 24th and 25th to plant the plants and spread the mulch. We need 10 more volunteers to hit 50. If you’d like to volunteer, send an e-mail to edryan@beachtalkradio.com

Here is a list of everyone who donated.
    Our final tally was $7,925

    1. Worthy of mention … Every single time Beach Talk Radio solicits donations for a voluntary cleanup, improvement or beautification event Ed & Kim Ryan kick in a generous donation themselves. Of course that’s in addition to the time and effort required on their part to plan and coordinate the event. On behalf of the Island residents we appreciate everything you do to help the Island recover!
