Kids Encouraged To Participate in Arbor Day

In conjunction with the City of Sanibel Vegetation Committee, the City of Sanibel Department of Recreation will be hosting a youth contest to celebrate Arbor Day.  The awareness and education activities include an essay or poem contest for youth grades 4 through 8.  The topic is Arbor Day with a poem that is a minimum of three lines or essay “Why are trees so important?”  Youth in grades K through 3 may submit a drawing inspired by Arbor Day. CLICK HERE  to access Coloring Contest Form.   CLICK HERE to access Essay or Poem Contest Form. Winners will receive a prize and be featured in a City press release.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Arbor Day Celebration will be a no contact event.  Additional details will be forthcoming.

The deadline for entering the youth coloring, essay and poem contest is 5:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
