New Cape Taxi Includes Daily Stop on The Beach

The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village, in partnership with Tarpon Point (Marina, Shops & Restaurants on the promenade) and the Cape Coral Chamber, will cut the ribbon for a new beach taxi that will make a daily stop on Fort Myers Beach.

The taxi will leave the Westin Resort in Cape Coral at 10AM for the 45 minute boat ride to Fort Myers Beach. Passengers will be dropped off at Snug Harbor. The boat will leave Snug Harbor and head back to the resort at 2:30PM.

The taxi is complimentary for resort guests (included in their resort fee when they stay at the resort) but the public is welcome to ride as well. The Tarpon Point Marina has a set number of dedicated seats that they reserve for the public. The price is $40 per person, $20 for kids ages 3-12, Kids under 2 ride for free. A special ribbon-cutting and christening ceremony for the return of the Silver King Dolphin & Beach Taxi will be held Wednesday, April 16th, from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM at the Westin Cape Coral Resort. This maritime tradition includes gathering friends, placing a branch with green leaves on board, and breaking or pouring a bottle of champagne over the bow, symbolizing good luck and safe travels.

The event is open to the public. Guests will be provided light refreshments and have have the opportunity to win multiple giveaway prizes from the resort, shops and restaurants on the Tarpon Point promenade.

The Silver King is owned and operated by Tarpon Point Marina.
