New Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Ron Martin will officially be sworn in on Wednesday, October 27th at 5PM at the Fort Myers Beach Library. Martin is replacing Matt Love who accepted a job as Fire Chief in Minnesota. The ceremony is open to the public.
Martin has served in the fire and emergency medical services field since 1992. Over the course of his career Chief Martin has had the opportunity to serve several communities in the Greater Chicago area, and various capacities, until relocating with his family to Southwest Florida. Chief Martin worked with Lee County EMS, until being hired as a Firefighter with the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department in 2003.
