Compass Rose Marina, a luxury marina located on Main Street on San Carlos Island, is set to break ground on a brand new facility Thursday, June 1st. The new dry rack storage facility will be built to withstand 200 MPH winds.
Property owner Jack Mahyer has big plans for his new facility which he says will be high enough to protect boats from potential storm surge and in a facility strong enough to withstand that next big storm.
The new marina will offer 286 dry rack slips, 29 wet boat slips, and a boat launching facility. The dry rack facility will be built to withstand category 5 strength hurricane conditions. The new marina will be able to store boats up to 50 feet in length.
The June 1st groundbreaking will take place from 7:30AM to 9AM.
