The next joint luncheon meeting of the Greater Fort Myers and Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce and Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association will host newly seated Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau Executive Director, Pamela Johnson, at their August luncheon Wednesday, August 26th at 11:30. The lunch will be held at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel.

“Pamela’s presentation, ‘Tourism Today & Tomorrow – A VCB Update,’ will bring to light the fresh perspective of our newest tourism industry leader,” said John Lai, president and chief executive officer of the collaborative chambers and FRLA. “Her more than 10 years with the VCB provides a well-grounded understanding of current and future economic trends.”

Johnson joined the VCB team in 2015 and most recently served as deputy director with former executive director Tamara Pigott. She stepped up to the executive director position upon Pigott’s retirement in July.

A Virginia native, Johnson has called Fort Myers home for more than 20 years, embracing the area’s natural beauty, resilience, and close-knit community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and has earned the Certified Destination Management Executive credential, the highest professional achievement in the tourism industry.
