No More Lawn Signs

All four candidates running for Fort Myers Beach Town Council have agreed not to put out any additional lawn signs on Estero Boulevard before the election on November 5th. Many of the signs were removed before Hurricane Helene to prevent them from becoming debris after the storm.

Mayor Dan Allers made the suggestion Brunch With The Mayor Sunday on Beach Talk Radio. Both Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt and candidate Greg Scasny were watching and quickly agreed to the plan. We caught up with councilman Scott Safford later in the day at our Packer/Vikings party and he also agreed.

Allers, Atterholt, Safford and Scasny are running for three open seats on the Fort Myers Beach Town Council this November. We are hosting our second candidate debate with all four at Fresh Catch behind Publix on Friday, October 11th at 5PM. The debate is open to the public and residents will be able to ask questions.

  1. More signs than people on the island – who pays for them ?
Most were on vacant properties –
The Mayors sign didn’t even reference he was mayor , must be embarrassed by the pathetic job he’s done –
Scott Safford sign says RE ELECT – he was never elected in the first place –
The entire town council should resign , the waste of money and resources is astounding – anyone with a brain knew all the sand would wash away and refill the drain system without having an anchoring system to hold it in place –
The need for all those signs by the incumbents shows they can’t stand on the Job they have done – it was a disgrace and emblematic of the clown show – The street repair Project had BAHIA VIA being completed OCT 2023- never got done and they never even adjusted schedule – made a big deal in 2023 of the street repair project and like everything, failed to execute and moved on without a word to residents –
RESIGN Dan and JIM – lying Scott who was appointed with major condition that he would only serve out the term and NOT run – spend time with his grandkids BS – RESIGN –
Disgraceful representation , not one with best interest of residents – just a bunch of BS and talk – promises made NONE kept A

  2. I think this puts the current council members at an advantage. Name recognition is a big deal. Why not put them back after a week or two?
