The town council approved a proclamation declaring the week of October 23rd Red Ribbon Week which is the oldest drug prevention program in the nation. It commemorates the death of DEA agent Kiki Camarena who was killed in Mexico by drug traffickers.
Hundreds of students throughout Lee County partipate in Red Ribbon Week events in their schools. This year’s theme is “Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug Free.”
Deborah Comella, Executive Director of the Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida will be one of our guests on Beach Talk Radio this weekend.
