On Wednesday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council held the second of two public hearings on the former Silver Sands Resort, which will be called One Particular Harbor. The council unanimously approved the 6-story 60-room resort owned by TPI.
The resort will be built on Estero Boulevard located between The Whale and The Surf Club.
TPI also owns Margaritaville. One Particular Harbor will compliment the larger resort up the Boulevard. Design & permitting is expected to take about a year followed by 18 months of construction.Â
The LPA also unanimously approved the project.
The new 6-story One Particular Harbor will have 60 rooms. The original boutique hotel had 22 units, The resort includes 2,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground level and 46 onsite parking spaces, a rooftop pool, dock improvements on the canal behind the property, and streetscape improvements along Estero Blvd and Primo Drive.Â
As part of their public benefit TPI will build a pedestrian barrier on the other side of Estero from the Waistin’ Away parking lot to the Margaritaville Beach Pool in an attempt to keep people from jaywalking. People crossing the street all over Estero Boulevard is a major contributor to the slow down of traffic.
Mayor Dan Allers recused himself from the vote because his Golf Cart company does business with TPI’s Margaritaville.
The Silver Sands was destroyed by Hurricane Ian and the property was eventually sold to Margaritaville owner TPI for $7.1 million.
