This past Saturday a fishing tournament fundraiser called Reeling for Autism was held by Familiy Initiative at The Shrimp Dock & Grill. $50,314 was raised from catch-and-release tournament.

“We’re thrilled with the success of the 2021 Reeling For Autism event,” said David Brown, MSW, President of Family Initiative. “It was a fantastic day for those who came out, and understanding the impact that funds raised will have on so many amazing kids and families served by our first-of-its-kind Autism Support Center is truly heart-warming.”

Kevin Aley of the Southwest Outfitters team took home the $4,000 first prize with a 37″ snook and 89″ total catch. D&D Bait and Tackle snagged $2,000 for second place, and the third place $1,000 prize was captured by team Crushin It.

As the fishing tournament took place, non-anglers of all ages enjoyed fun and games at The Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill, participating in pirate ship tours, corn hole games, a sling shot car, magic shows, caricatures, and more. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle also contributed to the fundraising total.
