At their August 16th meeting the Sanibel City Council voted to approve Ordinance 22-006, prohibiting e-bikes and other motorized vehicles on their beaches.

The ordinance states that any engine powered or assisted vehicle, machine or implement, including any battery or electrical powered or assisted bicycle or other vehicle or machine are now banned from Sanibel beaches.

The one exception to the new ordinance is for motorized wheelchair or other devices operated by a person who’s disabled.
