If the Fort Myers Beach town council follows its own rules, there are only two meetings to go (May 3 and May 17) to evaluate Town Manager Roger Hernstadt’s performance. The Monday meeting agenda is out and his review is not on that agenda.
According to Hernstadt’s contact, his performance must be evaluated…in a public meeting…between February 1st and May 31st. Of course the Mayor can call for a special council meeting at any time.
This council has let three months go by without even mentioning its duty to review the contract of its highest paid employee.
Hernstadt makes nearly $180,000 (with his $600 per month car allowance) plus full medical, dental and vision insurance for himself and his wife.
