Roar OffShore Boat Race organizers received approval for the 2021 event from the Fort Myers Beach town council Monday. The approval is contingent on receiving approval from other entities such as Lee County. The 2021 event will be held October 7th through the 9th.

The 2021 event will include a “parade” on Main Street on Thursday, October 7th at 5:45PM. While calling it a parade, it’s more of a road closing with the boats situated in front of businesses so the teams can mingle with the locals. The permit calls for closing off all of the parking areas needed for the parade and street party the night before on October 6th.

The organizers also received approval to have open containers during the night of the parade and the street party, Thursday October 7th from 5PM to Midnight.

The races were a big success back in 2019 and had to be canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Following the 2019 event, the Roar Offshore team reported to the local press that its event had generated millions of dollars for the local economy.
