The new building isn’t open yet because it isn’t up yet, however, like many other restaurants on Fort Myers Beach the owners of The Whale are using their property to provide food and entertainment to the community. Thursday night was the official parking lot opening for The Whale.
The location on Estero Boulevard will be open this Thursday through Sunday. Hours will be Thursday 3P to 8P, Friday 12P to 8P, Saturday 12P to 8P and Sunday 12P to 5P. They will have live music every night and Saturday during the day. Whale merchandise will also be available to purchase.
Drinks will be served to customers in the fenced off Whale parking lot property and food will be sold from the Dudley’s BBQ food truck.
Doc Ford’s owner Marty Harrity sold The Whale to Mike and Dawn Miller and Greg Von Krumreig in June of 2022.
The new owners planned to make renovations to the building then Hurricane Ian wiped out the building completely.
They plan to rebuild The Whale and have submitted plans to the town. Once both sides come to an agreement on what can be built on the Estero Boulevard property and permits are issued construction can begin.
Is there any Whale Apparel that can be bought to help support even if I can’t be there in person?
