Sand spurs are thriving in the bird nesting area on the southern tip of the island. Audubon is organizing a sand spurs clearing operation for the benefit of the property owners who support the bird nesting area and the birds themselves.
Clearing starts at 9am Friday and 8am Saturday. Park at Carlos Point Condos at 8350 Estero, bring buckets, trash bags, gloves, shoes, sun protection and water.
