Town Announces July 4th Festivities

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is planning two events on Monday, July 4th to celebrate America’s birthday. The first is the parade that begins at 10 a.m. that starts at Bay Oaks and the second event is the fireworks at 9PM.

The parade route is from Bay Oaks to Bay Road then on Estero Boulevard through the Downtown District and back. The roads and the Matanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be no public parking at Bay Oaks or the Library from 7:30 a.m. until noon due to the streets being used for parade staging.

The second event will be the fireworks which are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. The 20-minute show will launch from the pier at Times Square.The Fort Myers Beach fireworks celebration is second to none.

The Matanzas Pass Bridge will be closed to oncoming traffic around 9 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Expect traffic to be heavy and parking to be hard to find.

Please remember fireworks are not permitted anywhere in the town, including the beach.
