And just in time for our big race crowd Saturday. The porta potty facilities in Times Square were not being cleaned frequently enough leaving Times Square visitors battling flies and a putrid odor when they needed to go to the bathroom. You spoke and the town delivered.

Public Works Director Jason Freeman reported to the Town Council that a new porta potty vendor delivered 4 new toilets, an ADA restroom and handwash stations at both Palm Avenue Beach Access and Times Square. They are scheduled to be serviced 5x/week including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Lee County owns Lynn Hall Park. The restrooms in the park were totally destroyed by Hurricane Ian. The county has not announced when those facilities will be repaired. Lee County spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to upgrade the Lynn Hall Park bathrooms a few months before the storm.
