Her background in crisis communication and public-sector engagement will be an invaluable asset as we continue improving transparency, strengthening community trust, and keeping residents informed. We’re excited to welcome her to the team.”

Abigail added, “I am incredibly excited and deeply honored to serve the Town of Fort Myers Beach. This community is resilient and full of heart, and I am committed to ensuring our residents receive clear trustworthy information every single day. 1. The seawall idea being looked at around the times square area, it was mentioned that grants may be available for this type of project. Would the grant, or another government funding means be available to beach front properties owners also? We at Shamron, 7650 Estero Blvd, are actively looking into a seawall to mitigate storm surges in the future.

    • Uncertain.

In April, the administration cancelled $3.2billion in mitigation grants that had been awarded under FEMA’s BRIC program. It’s the subject of an ongoing lawsuit by dozens of states to restore the funding.

There might be grant funding for a seawall… but who knows if or when.
