Town Hires New Planner

Judith Frankel is now onboard with the Town of Fort Myers Beach. Her official title is Principal Planner and she’ll report to Operations & Compliance Director Frankie Kropacek. Frankel comes to Fort Myers Beach from Surfside where the town also hired Town Manager Andy Hyatt from.

According to her LinkedIn page, Frankel is an urban planner with expertise in zoning, comprehensive plans, historic preservation and sustainable urban design. Her work zoning experience has included writing ordinances, implementing new policy, and presenting to elected officials and the public.

Frankel served at the Chair of the Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Surfside and was a member of that board since 2016.

She previously was the Director of Programs and Outreach for the Miami Design Preservation League from 2011 to 2017.

Frankel’s areas of expertise include: State and Local grant writing and management, project design and management, educational programming for youth and adults, community engagement, cross-organizational relationship building, historic preservation practices, urban development.

Frankel will be paid a base salary of $115,000, $141,326 with benefits.
