The town of Fort Myers Beach is soliciting feedback from residents regarding changes to their Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be held at the Fort Myers Beach Library tomorrow from 10AM to 1PM.
After hearing from the community town staff will then make changes to the Comprehensive Plan and put those changes before the Town Council to consider. Any changes would then need to be submitted to the state for final approval.
Would love to receive a copy of the plan. Is there a way to view it?
You can find the Comp Plan on the town’s website; it’s over 500 pages.
Is there a way for Town of FMB residents can provide input if we are unable to attend that day? An online survey, such as with the proposed merger of two fire districts?
A three hour window in the middle of the day should tell you something. You are right to ask for an online survey. I have often wondered what credentials “town staff” have to make these critical changes.
Keep the current plan, except get rid of the part that allows developers to ask for deviations from the plan. If developers understand that the plan is iron-clad, much of the nonsense will stop.
This.
Agree 100%
Pointless, as WAK doesn’t listen to the residents of the Island.
While at the library, stop in at the bookstore/gift shop on the 3rd floor. It’s open 9:15-12:45 on Saturdays. Unique gift items, beautiful greeting cards including Mother’s Day cards and gifts, and postage stamps. There might even be some Girl Scout cookies left.
