Over the holiday break Town Manager Roger Hernstadt informed the town council that several members of the town’s workforce had tested positive for COVID-19. The first announced positive test was an intern in the town finance department.
Hernstadt said the intern was at Town Hall on Friday, November 20th. Finance Department workers were rapid tested and it was determined that the town did not have any COVID-19 spread in its Finance Department – only the one accounting intern tested positive.
Unfortunately, there was an outbreak of 8 cases in BASE/community development unit. 6 additional employees in that work group tested negative.
All employees have been advised that if they have symptoms or concerns, they can take rapid tests at Town expense. Hernstadt closed Town Hall for a deep cleaning on Wednesday and BASE services were limited over the holiday weekend.
