The Estero Island Garden Club is hosting a presentation on how to be successful in SW Florida’s challenging environment with organic gardening methods. Gardens can be as
small as a potted plant container to a larger raised or in-ground bed. Vegetables (and
fruits such as tomatoes) that are planted now can yield produce in January through
April.
If you grow your own vegetables you won’t need to worry about a FDA recall of produce due to contamination and you won’t need to worry whether the vegetables are truly organic.
This presentation is free and open to the public. It’s being held at the Fort Myers Beach Public Library on November 7th beginning at 10 AM. A Garden Club meeting will be held immediately afterwards, and all are welcome to stay.
The guest speaker moved to Southwest Florida in 2014 and has spent the last several years giving talks to help frustrated gardeners do better in Florida’s tough conditions.
Plan on arriving early to collect handouts.
