According to Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control District Chair Joanne Semmer the 2023-2024 millage rate will remain the same as the current year. Fort Myers Beach residents will continue be charged .1123 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
The Mosquito Control District is its own taxing district on Fort Myers beach. Property owners will see a separate line for this tax on their annual tax bill.
The two budget meetings for the Mosquito Control District will be Thursday September 7th at 5:01 p.m. and Thursday September 14th at 5:01 p.m.
None of the four taxing districts on Fort Myers Beach raised their millage rates for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The rates for the Fort Myers Beach government (.99 per $1,000), the Fire District (2.9851 per $1,000) and the Library Board (.2355 per $1,000). There’s still a possibility the millage rates you see here can be lowered. By law, they cannot be raised at this point.
