The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation, The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club and Beach Talk Radio have united to collect and donate to the residents of the 33931 zip code who are in need following the decedent impacts Hurricane Ian. Here’s the plan to push the money out.
We have received over 800 applications, of which approximately 650 meet the criteria of providing proof that they live in the 33931 zip code. The following process will be used to place the designated money, $500, into the hands of our applicants as soon as possible.
FIS (Mastercard) has created a prepaid debit card disbursement program for immediate relief assistance.
Each recipient will receive an e-mail with the informational steps on how to activate the card which can be used for online purchases or manually entered into your mobile wallet.
The fund disbursement schedule is as follows:
On October 13th a one-time set up with MasterCard was done that will take approximately 5 days. Within 3 business days after set-up, by October 24, MasterCard will be sending emails to recipients with directions about how to accept their E-Mastercard valued at $500.
We have 650 active applications and we are still in need of additional donations to fund all applications. Once we have funded these approved applications, we will reopen the application portal.
