Here’s an update from our friends at Find A Home Give A Home which is an all volunteer not for profit cat and dog rescue organization on Fort Myers Beach.
Let’s see what furry friend needs a home this week:
Pack of dogs. These guys have been with the organization for awhile. Three of them are searching for their forever home. Left to right (second position Prince, Squishy the white little one and Tito the last one on the right).
Iris is a beautiful 2-year-old female German Shepherd that weighs ~75lbs. She has a solid black coat with some brown patches down her legs. She is very loving, smart, and has been great with kids. She loves toys, playing fetch, going on walks/runs and is friendly to other people. Her owner unfortunately had some financial issues and needed to find her a good home. Iris has some basic training and shows the ability/intelligence to be highly trainable. She is completely house broken and has had some crate training. She seems good with other dogs, but will need to be properly integrated into a home with other pets. She is a large active dog so she will require frequent walks or have a decent side yard to play in. She is in the process of being vetted & microchipped.
This is a very friendly boy about 2 years old and 45LBS. He loves attention and is very friendly, always wagging his tail to show you how happy he is. He enjoyed going to the dog park and would make a great companion.
And you can’t forget the furry felines available: Sonia and Snickers are 9 months old. Bonded!! Male and female siblings. Playful and sweet. Ready for a home together.
Find-A-Home Give-A-Home is dedicated to finding permanent, loving, responsible homes and educating the public about the importance of spaying and neutering, reducing overpopulation of cats and dogs and to teach proper pet care.
When looking for a pet it is very important to choose the right dog but certainly consider the age of the dog with your age. Too many middle aged dogs/cats end up in the shelter hoping to be adopted after their pet parent passed away. It should be the other way around!
When you are considering adoption please look at mature or senior dogs to help your community. Taking care of a puppy is exhausting and requires a great deal of time and work. The demands of taking care of puppies and young dogs can be similar to that of a toddler who needs to play, eat, and love all day long.
