New Big Carlos Pass Bridge To Open This Month
The new south end $90.8 million bridge project began in Summer 2023. Two years later it’s ready to open for traffic. Crews will begin to shift traffic to the new bridge at 11 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, through 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14.
Free Beach Tram Returns This Month
The Lee County beach tram will start running again on Thursday, November 20th. The free tram runs about every 30-40 minutes, seven days a week from Fort Myers Beach Public Library to Bowditch Point Park.

Residents Can Now Park Anywhere
The town of Fort Myers Beach has increased its annual parking fee for residents from $25 to $50. The 100% increase comes with added value. Residents can now park in any town owned parking space on the island.
Another Fort Myers Beach Ribbon Cutting
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting celebration for the new Bonita Fish Company. The restaurant, under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, reopened at 11AM.
Whale Ribbon Cutting This Friday
The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce will host another ribbon cutting celebration this Friday when the owners of The Whale cut the ribbon more than 3 years after Hurricane Ian wiped out their building. The event begins at 3PM.
