Link to Be Sworn in Monday
When the Fort Myers Beach Town Council meets Monday Rebecca Link will be sworn in and take the seat previously occupied by Karen Woodson. Link received 9 more votes than Tom Brady in Woodson’s recall election on November 4th.

New Parking Lot Coming
This Lee County owned property will soon become a golf cart and bicycle parking lot, according to Lee County Commissioner David Mulicka, who made the announcement at The Whale ribbon cutting celebration last Friday.
New, Wider, Taller, Safer Bridge Opens This Week
The new south end $90.8 million bridge project began in Summer 2023. Two years later it’s ready to open for traffic. Crews will begin to shift traffic to the new bridge at 11PM Thursday through 6AM Friday.Â
Foundation Raises $3,000
The first Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation event of the year was the recently held Halloween Pub Crawl which raised $3,000 that will be used to support the community later in the year.

Marina Cantina GM Dru Hanni gave us the history and tour of the newly reopened restaurant next to Salty Sam’s Marina on San Carlos Island. The restaurant, previously known as The Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill, took on 13 feet of water during Hurricane Ian.

On our Sunday show, Fort Myers Beach Mayor Dan Allers challenged all the other Mayors in Lee County to join him in collecting holiday cards for the troops in support of the annual campaign sponsored by radio station 92.5 Fox News.

Illuminations Parade is This Saturday
What’s Up FMB is hosting the inaugural Illuminations Parade at dusk Saturday. The parade is a lantern-lit procession filled with color, creativity, and family fun. The parade starts at Bayside Park, heads up Old San Carlos to the beach and finishes at DiamondHead.
Transforming The Terrace
A portion of the Margaritaville Resort Sunset Terrace has been under a bit of construction lately. TPI Hospitality, the owners of the resort, are converting the area that overlooks the beach (and the sunset) to what will be called The License to Chill Theater.
