”Economics of our Ecology: How Blue = Green” is the title of the SanCap Chamber business luncheon Wednesday, July 10, at the Pink Shell Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Four panelists will speak about current water-quality issues and how it affects the local economy.

Guest speakers include SCCF’s (Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation) James Evans, Captains For Clean Water’s Daniel Andrews, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s Michele Arquette-Palermo, and Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of REALTORS’ Bill Robinson.

The discussion will support the chamber’s new Preserving Paradise leadership program. Visit preservingparadise.org for more information.

The chamber business lunch is a monthly networking opportunity held at various member locations. The chamber strives to provide speakers to discuss business topics relevant to the membership. SanCap Chamber members receive meeting invitations by email. Cost for luncheon attendance is $35. Advanced registration is required to attend; walk-ins are not accepted.

  1. We need to slow down development on Estero Island in order to help the water quality. Need to put pressure on City Hall to stop making exceptions to density codes. We can only cram so much on this small Island.
