31 boats participated in the 33rd annual Fort Myers Beach Christmas Boat Parade this past Saturday night (watch the replay HERE). The boat that won the top spot in the People Choice category was from Davidson Painting called The Polar Bear Express.

Kim Davidson tells Beach Talk Radio that her family spent about 3 weeks trying to find the decorations they needed to put on the boat, shopping everywhere from Naples to Cape Coral.

The Davidson family owns a house on Estero Boulevard and starting around Thanksgiving they pull their boat out, put it near the sidewalk, all lit up. “We have fun every night talking to all the people walking by and taking pictures on and around the boat.”

Kim also told us that if the Chamber offered a prize for having the most fun at an event they would have won that one also.

Here are all the winners from the 2021 event
People’s Choice – Davidson Painting, Kim Davidson
Best Small Powerboat – Bennington the Snowman – Kelly Bonkowski
Best Large Powerboat – Chillin the Most – Brian Josephson
#2 Best Large Powerboat – The Calliope – John Barrett
Best Sponsored Small Powerboat – Town of Fort Myers Beach – Austin Gilchrist
Best Sponsored Large Powerboat – El L Sea, Lawrence Cremia/ Leslea Ellis
Best Decorated House – The Flamingo Christmas

The Chamber would like to thank the following sponsors: All Water Excursions, Salty Sam’s Marina, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, Dixie Fish Co., Bonita Bill’s Waterfront Café, Snug Harbor Waterfront Restaurant, Gavin’s Ace Hardware, FMB Publix, Mango Rita’s, Kona Ice, Shuckers, The Beach Bar, and Salty Crab Bar & Grille.

  1. Thanks for the live broadcast. We tried to attend however the crowds and the traffic was outrageous so we turned around and watched it on your Facebook broadcast. We loved your commentary.

    • Thank you Bob. We had a lot of fun doing it and we appreciate Jacki and everyone at the Chamber asking us. We hope to get better at it every year. Kim and I were thinking of getting the crowd by us to hold up numbereed cards, like the Olympics as the boats go by.
