On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved adding another $50,000 worth of LCSO boat patrols to the current fiscal year.
The town was awarded a $25,000 grant from the West Coast Inland Navigation District for additional boat patrols and in order to receive the grant the town must match the $25,000. The $25,000 match is in the current fiscal budget already.
The additional patrols would be above and beyond the town’s current level of service from LCSO.
What was the current commitment to this from the town?
Needed something awful in the manatee zones
That would be appreciated as boaters rarely see water patrol and idle & slow zone offenders are everywhere
